About Me *

I work from a room in my house in Canterbury. Working from home is my backbone, and I like to get out and meet lovely people so I add teaching, events, and training to my work.

What I Do
I work with creative online business owners, helping them build something they’re proud of. I offer clear guidance, reflective space, and support, with a focus on helping them stay true to who they are while developing their business. My job is to make sure you can have a balanced, sustainable business that works for you, not just your bottom line.

How I Work
Every part of my process is a bit unusual. I don’t stick to rigid routines. I’m always looking for ways to shake things up and stay innovative. One thing I recommend to everyone is digital co-working with Focusmate. It helps me stay focused and accountable when I’m working solo. With my clients, I’m super happy to offer a flexible coaching plan relying on convenient Voxer chats

What Keeps Me Grounded
I make sure to keep a work-life balance, and to get plenty of fresh air, interesting challenges, and opportunities for learning. I volunteer at parkrun and Welsh festivals (been learning Welsh for many years), foster cats, and swim in the sea. Latest big side project is learning to play the guitar! These activities keep me grounded and connected to more people, because at heart I’m a massive extrovert.

The Best Advice I’ve Ever Received
The best advice I’ve ever received is to ask myself, “Is that the last good idea you’ve ever had?” The answer is always no, and that keeps me moving forward.

A Call to Action

If you’d like to connect with me more, please join my newsletter! It’s free, and covers topics like doing good business, staying creative, and favourite ice cream flavours.

Staying Organised
I keep everything in my Notion dashboard. It has goals, checklists, and drafts for all my projects. It’s where I collect all the links to my online resources.

My Core Values

  • Service

  • Excellence

  • Personality

  • Energy & Fun

  • Learning & Growth

One more important value that underpins all my work is  inclusivity. You are welcome here, and that includes the LGTBQIA+ community, neurodivergent people, and all humans regardless of race, body shape, physical abilities, or gender. If embracing diversity and feminism (intersectional) make you uncomfortable, we’re probably not a fit.

How I Got Here
After university, I worked in international student recruitment. I loved the travel, the human connections, and the chance to help young people make important, sometimes scary life choices. After a job crisis in 2012, I needed a change. Building on my life-long love of learning and languages, I started my own business as a German tutor and quickly realised I wanted to do more than just practice vocab with people. I began researching, writing, and podcasting about language learning. Eventually, I became a language learning coach and helped other teachers build their own businesses. I love having lots on the go—that’s what keeps me excited.

Tools I Use Every Day
I rely on Notion, ChatGPT, and Hey email to stay organised. I use Apple Reminders and Notion to create checklists and track everything I have to do. My custom setup helps me get everything out of my head and see it all clearly.

I also use an Aeropress for coffee, a SAD lamp in the winter, an external monitor, and pen and paper.
